The government has approved all of 15 operational programmes of the New Hungary Development Plan (NHDP), within the framework of which we are able to invest 7000 billion Hungarian Forints in the development of Hungary during the next 7 years with the assistance of EU funding. These programmes define the areas in which, and proportion according to which we are able to use the available funding at a sectoral and regional level. Hungary will submit the approved operational programmes to the European Commission in the middle of December.
During the 2007-2013-period, a rate of funding of 1600 billion HUF will be available within the framework of the operational programme of development regions, whilst 5300 billion HUF will be available within the framework of the sectoral operational programmes. The highest number of developments can be implemented through funding granted within the framework of the Transport Operational Programme (TOP), the Environment and Energy Operational Programme (EEOP) and the Social Renewal Operational Programme (SROP).
Action Plans required for announcing the calls for applications can only be developed following European Union approval of the operational programmes; however, in order to speed up administration, draft action actions are currently being compiled. Therefore, according to plans, it will be possible to announce a few successfully operating calls for applications at the beginning of next year.
