New vocation training centre in downtown Budapest 3 July 2008
The new central training centre of the Downtown Regional Integrated Vocational Training Centre was implemented with the help of an investment of over 1.4 billion HUF in value within the framework of National Development Plan I (2004-2006). New services include a training bank that effectively functions as a bank, childcare services helping the vocational training of parents with infants, as well as a new conference room.
The Budapest RIVTC inaugurated on 3 July is one the 16 vocational training centres that were set up nationwide within the framework of National Development Plan I with the aim of increasing employment levels.
The Budapest RIVTC located in the 7th District of Budapest under Dohány utca 65 and operating on a floor space of nearly 3050 m2 provides an infrastructural background for 12 practical training-oriented vocational schools specialising in commerce or economics. A bank functions under real-life circumstances at the central training centre within the framework of a cooperation agreement, which equally serves as a training bank. In addition to the conference room that is also suitable for holding larger professional conferences, a child-care centre has also been set up in the new building, the aim of which is to help integrate parents with infants in the vocational training system. The practical training centre that will be fully operating from September 2008, will not only offer services for individuals taking part in vocational trainings, but will also offer opportunities for the residents of the area by providing a range of various services.
By reconstructing the entire building located along Dohány Street, a modern centre by and large in every regard was established that introduces a series of new content and formal components in Hungarian vocational training system by providing training in an environment simulating real workplace conditions. The bank branch that will operate as the only „live training centre” in the country will support training in economics and banking. On top of their regular work, the employees of the bank will help implement the practice-oriented training by providing mentoring; consequently, students will be able to acquire updated and marketable knowledge and skills. The training bank will equally support training courses held in the field of banking and satisfy adult training and labour-market demands. The objective of the model initiative aims at better adjusting the palette of vocational trainings offered to the demands of the economy. The training shop, call centre and accounting office will be units of the central training centre that operate under real market conditions. We have set up a total of 460 training places in the 20 unconventional training rooms of the centre training centre, which are equipped with hardware serving as an IT background for the most modern server infrastructure, 100 PCs and laptops, as well as relevant software and a Wi-Fi network accessible in the entire building.
