PANNOVA Industrial Park to be Renewed18 February 2009

Pécs-Kővágószőlős Industrial Park will be renewed with the help of funding made available by the New Hungary Development Plan. A press conference presenting the details of the investment to be implemented with the help of EU funding of 126 million HUF in value was held on 13 February, which event was also attended by Dr Katalin Szili Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and Dr Jenő Varga President of the South Trans-Danubian Regional Association of the Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists.

Pannova Industrial Park, located only 2 kilometres from Pécs, has been operating since 2007 and currently accommodates 20 enterprises. Thanks to the infrastructure developments to be implemented with the help of EU funding, the Industrial Park will be transformed into a concentrated industrial production and logistics centre that may evolve into the development hub of the region in the process of reindustrialisation, hence creating an excellent opportunity for enterprises endeavouring to adjust to market competition in a modern business environment facilitating their development by cooperating with other companies and taking cost-efficiency into account. Within the framework of the investment, handicap access will be installed in the 950 square metre 2 storey building to be renewed and an entry system and reception service will be set up inside the building within the framework of the investment. A quality management system providing feedback for implementing developments corresponding to market needs will be introduced in order to be able to provide high standard services.

Logistics activities in the region will substantially increase over the upcoming period, since Motorway M6 will be completed by 2010, similarly to Highway M60 running adjacent to the industrial park. The industrial park is not only located in an advantageous place in terms of road transport: beyond the proximity of Pécs-Pogány Airport, the industrial park itself is also connected to the main Pécs-Budapest railway line by industrial tracks departing from the site of the industrial park itself.
