Highway 85 Bypass around Enese to be Completed by the End of 201016 March 2009

The 7-km-long bypass of Highway 85 around Enese will be completed by the end of 2010 within the framework of the New Hungary Development Plan. The assistance contract of this nearly 13 billion HUF investment was signed on 13 March.

The construction of the bypass section of Highway 85 around Enese will be implemented with the help of funding made available by the New Hungary Development Plan. Dr Csaba Molnár Minister for Transport, Telecommunication and Energy handed over the project’s assistance contract to Győző Rékasi Regional Manager of the National Infrastructure Development Corporation at Enese.

Highway M85 envisaged to be constructed between Győr and Csorna consists of 5 main sections, one of which is the 7-km-long bypass around Enese. The new 2x2-lane bypass road will be constructed north of the settlement of Enese; the first junction of this planned bypass road will be constructed at Rábapatona and the second junction will be built at Bezi.
Reinforced dirt roads over 9-km-long will be created to ensure access to the mainly agricultural land closed off due to the construction work.

Construction work will begin in spring 2009, and the road is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2010. The public procurement procedure required for launching the construction work is already in progress.

The total cost of the project amounts to 13 billion HUF, of which 11 billion HUF is funded by the European Union.
