New Wing of the Healthcare Centre in Érd to Be Completed Soon 2 November 2009

A micro-regional outpatient healthcare centre providing special medical services is currently being developed in Érd with the help of EU funding amounting to over 1.3 billion HUF. The details of this development providing healthcare services for over 100,000 residents was presented at the project kick-off press conference; Dr Tamás Székely,Minister for Health, also attended this event.

The development of outpatient healthcare centres providing basic, as well as special medical services will begin in the next few months in 5 settlements of Pest County with the help of EU and national co-funding amounting to a total of 4 billion HUF.

The Healthcare Centre in Érd currently provides basic medical services for 82,000 residents and community care services for over 100,000 residents. Within the framework of this development, a one-day surgery unit, motor rehabilitation daytime hospital and treatment infrastructure will be set up by demolishing an outdated building and constructing a new wing – extending the premises by a total of 205 square metres – and gastroenterology and radiology services will be developed by digitalising medical equipment. By developing the IT system, it will be possible to apply telemedicine, set up an integrated management system and electronic data provision service and introduce a modern patient management system. Building upgrading works extend to include creating full handicap access to the building and modernising the heating system in the entire institution.           

Modern micro-regional outpatient healthcare centres will be developed in 28 settlements across the country by using funding amounting to a total of 25 billion HUF made available by the New Hungary Development Plan.
