Extended Industrial Park in Győr Handed Over 3 December 2009

The extension of the Industrial Park in Győr was implemented with the help of a total of 650 million HUF within the framework of the West Pannon Operational Programme of the New Hungary Development Plan. The European Union granted funding amounting to nearly 138 million HUF for this project, which was handed over on 3 December.

The investment, within the framework of which the eastern section of the Industrial Park in Győr was extended, was handed over on 3 December. The same type of infrastructure currently functioning in other sections of the industrial park was introduced in this new, altogether 17.5-hectare area, as an outcome of which, the gas, electricity, water, sewage and telecommunication network was set up, alongside the fire hydrant system.

Mr László Balogh, managing director of the company Győr International Industrial Park Ltd. said that several plots along Tibormajori Road currently being developed in the eastern section of the Industrial Park in Győr have already been sold thanks to the call announced by the Regional Development Agency for small enterprises and geared towards the development of sites, as an outcome of which several applicants have reserved plots on this new area. In any case, according to the schedule, these enterprises will be able to launch their investments from the beginning of next year on upgraded 2000-5000 square-metre plots to be available by the end of the year.

The management of the industrial park expects 15-20 companies to set up sites in this 17.5-hectare area within 2-3 years.

During the 2007-2009 period, calls for applications geared towards the development of industrial parks, industrial zones and incubators and the revitalisation of brownfield areas were announced each year within the framework of the New Hungary Development Plan. 162 projects were approved funding amounting to a total of more than 42 billion HUF within the framework of these calls, out of which funding amounting to 25.12 billion HUF has already been contracted and nearly 7 billion HUF has been transferred to the beneficiaries. 15 of these projects have already been implemented.

A framework amounting to a total of 100 billion HUF has been made available during the 2007-2013 period for the development of industrial parks, industrial zones and incubators.
