Higher Standard Educational Conditions in Nádasd from EU Funding25 January 2010

Funding amounting to 105 billion HUF has been made available up to 2011 within the framework of the NHDP National School Renewal Programme, enabling the implementation of 365 projects. This ensures the opportunity to renew numerous outdated, run-down kindergarten and school buildings and set up quality educational institutions. The most significant kindergarten and school renewal programme of the past 50 years is being implemented within the framework of NHDP. The European Union has contributed over 187 million HUF towards the renewal of the kindergarten and primary school in Nádasd.

It will be possible to develop 26 kindergartens and 21 primary schools in the Western Transdanubian region up to 2011. The implementation of 26 projects is currently underway; four of these have already been handed over, the first of which is the Széchenyi István Community Cultural Centre in Vas County managed by the Kindergarten and School Management Association of Nádasd and its Environs, which has just been handed over.

This multi-functional institution undertakes micro-regional tasks and is maintained by a local government association integrating 8 settlements, namely, Daraboshegy, Halogy, Hegyháthodász, Hegyhátsál, Katafa, Nádasd, Őrimagyarósd and Szőce.

Plastic doors and windows were installed, the floor covering was replaced in classrooms and handicap ramps were built to the building housing the kindergarten and the primary school within the framework of this investment. An automatic fire alarm and security system was installed in the building complex; the heating system was upgraded, similarly to the water supply and electricity network. A new open corridor was built to maintain the passageway between the school and the kitchen and for organising outdoor programmes in the canteen area. A special classroom for developing children was set up and the gymnasium was renewed in the kindergarten. Trees and flowers were planted in the institution’s courtyard and a new playground was created for students. Equipment required for content development, such as classroom and other additional furniture, display, demonstration and competency development devices and equipment, technological installations, outdoor games and sports equipment were also procured within the framework of this project.
