Infrastructural Developments at the Kindergarten in Csanytelek Completed18 February 2010

The European Union granted over 122 million HUF for the renewal of the day-care kindergarten in Csanytelek.

Funding amounting to 105 billion HUF has been made available up to 2011 within the framework of the NHDP National School Renewal Programme, enabling the implementation of 365 projects. This ensures the opportunity to renew numerous outdated, run-down kindergarten and school buildings and set up quality educational institutions. The most significant kindergarten and school renewal programme of the past 50 years is being implemented within the framework of NHDP.

The aim of the investment implemented in Csanytelek relates to renewing and building extensions to the settlement’s day-care kindergarten, alongside establishing educational conditions meeting 21st century requirements. Beyond renewing and building extensions to the building, this development equally extends to include creating full handicap access for persons with various disabilities, making the building energy-efficient and procuring instruments and equipment with the help of which pedagogical work and education can be upgraded and modernised.

Out of the 107 children enrolled at the kindergarten in Csanytelek, 54 children come from disadvantaged backgrounds, 19 children experience multiple disadvantages and 19 children have special educational needs. This institution applies the method of integrated education, which is why access to competitive knowledge s ensured for each individual child. Teaching kindergarten teachers how to apply competency-based teaching was particularly emphasised within the framework of this development in order to improve integrated educational conditions as best possible. Instruments and equipment used to develop children were also procured to improve the individual skills and abilities of children.

The institution particularly focuses on teaching children how to lead a healthy lifestyle and sowing the seeds of environmental awareness. Regular consumption of bio-foods and health and environmental days helps promote this; in addition, waste collection and environmental study trips are also organised on a regular basis. A salt room has also been created at the kindergarten, which is a unique facility in the region.
