Integrated Micro-regional Centre in Kozármisleny Set Up with the Help of EU Funding 9 March 2010

The Cultural Centre in Kozármisleny was renewed within the framework of the New Hungary Development Plan from funding amounting to nearly 770 million HUF. The institution that has just been handed over will continue to function as a modern, integrated micro-regional centre thanks to this development.

This project was implemented through the professional cooperation of 2 educational institutions operating in Kozármisleny, i.e., the Janikovszky Éva Cultural Centre and the Kozármisleny Primary Art Education Institute, the ultimate aim of which related to establishing a multipurpose educational institution functioning on the basis of institutional integration and capable of operating at a micro-regional level.

Among others, extensions were built to the school, the gymnasium and the kindergarten were renewed and new community rooms and spaces were created within the framework of this project. Full handicap access is now ensured to the building, as an outcome of which children and adults with physical, visual, audio, speech and language, as well as mental impairments are now able to safely and comfortably use and get around the building.

Modernising the heating system in the spirit of energy efficiency was one of the key components of this project, within the framework of which a modern heating system that can be operated and maintained in a more economical manner was installed and the use of alternative energy (solar energy) was introduced by installing solar panels. In addition, an institutional setting suitable for accommodating the complex set of information and communication technologies (ICT) has also been created.

The institution’s educational and methodological programme specifically focuses on language learning and the acquisition of language skills, alongside art, sports, integrated education and individual development. Equipment procurements implemented as a part of this investment specifically support these areas. New classrooms were equipped; a language laboratory was set up and the procurement of sports equipment was also a key component of this development.

Conditions underpinning integrated education in the institution were also upgraded within the framework of this project, at which institution integrated education for disadvantaged children and students with special educational needs was provided even before this project was launched; however, from now on, it will be possible to educate these children much more effectively and under modern conditions thanks to this project.
