Micro-regional Education Network to Be Developed by Investing 730 Million HUF 9 March 2010

The Zomba micro-regional education network will be developed within the framework of the NHDP National School Renewal Programme by investing funding amounting to approximately 730 million HUF.

The National School Renewal Programme is the most significant kindergarten and school renewal programme of the past 50 years, within the framework of which it will be possible to upgrade and renew numerous kindergartens and schools up to 2011 with the help of EU and national funding amounting to a total of 105 billion HUF. Infrastructural and professional developments, which not only make the daily routine of children more comfortable, but also establish conditions underpinning quality education, will be implemented at local educational institutions within the framework of this programme through the collaboration of the settlements of Zomba, Tengelic, Harc and Kölesd in Tolna County.

The foundation stone of the local primary school’s new gymnasium has also just been laid in Zomba at the event presenting educational and infrastructural developments.

Among others, a gymnasium and 2 classrooms will be added to the primary school in Zomba, a nursery group room will be introduced at the local kindergarten and the building’s energy system will also be upgraded as a part of the development of the micro-regional education network in Zomba to be implemented from nearly 730 million HUF. Numerous investments will also be implemented in other settlements belonging to this micro-region, more specifically, the school building in Tengelic will be renewed and handicap access will be created to this building; a playroom will be added to the kindergarten in Harc, whilst educational equipment will be procured in Kölesd.

The National School Renewal Programme announced back in September 2007 enables the renewal of outdated and rundown buildings in 365 kindergartens and primary schools. Investments representing some 76.6 billion HUF in value have so far begun at 255 various locations nationwide. Funding amounting to nearly 5 billion HUF will be invested in 5 projects in Tolna County to develop educational institutions in this county.

Tolna County has so far been approved funding in the case of nearly 1000 applications submitted in response to calls announced within the framework of the first National Development Plan and the New Hungary Development Plan, and has received funding amounting to a total of nearly 49 billion HUF.
