Service Developments Raising the International Appeal of the Spa and Wellness Complex in Sárvár Underway22 March 2010

This priority project costing a total of nearly 3 billion HUF to complete and aimed at developing the Spa and Wellness Complex in Sárvár will be implemented within the framework of the New Hungary Development Plan. Having laid the foundation stone on 19 March, the development of a multi-generation spa and health tourism centre where various age groups can relax and regenerate independent of each other can now get underway. By using alternative energy sources, this development will be implemented by causing minimum environmental impacts.

Setting up a new family indoor wing open all year round, which primarily offers an excellent opportunity for families with children and young people to relax and have fun, is a key component of this spa bath development to be implemented with the help of EU funding amounting to nearly 900 million HUF. A baby pool with two slippery dips, a children’s pool equipped with pool games and an adjacent spa pool for parents will be set up in the children’s zone. The baby world, where a kitchen for babies, resting room, playroom with toys, nappy changing and sleeping room will be made available, caters for children under the age of 3 and their parents. Beyond these facilities, a wave pool, climbing wall, climbing net, as well as three different water slides winding in and out of the building will also be created in this new wing. By extending the indoor area, the number of visitors allowed to simultaneously enter the complex will increase by 450.

A fitness block with a separate entrance and reception area immediately connecting to the indoor multi-functional recreation pool and ensuring access to the bowling alley in the basement will be created in the new wing.

The Sauna World will also be enlarged in the old part of the building. Together with sauna facilities available at present, an additional Finnish sauna, ice cave, salt chamber, Jacuzzi, cascade and vitamin bar will be set up in the area used at present. The Mediterranean resting area used currently will evolve into the Sauna World resting area, which will be accessible via an external stairway. The wellness section will also be renewed as a part of these developments, the optimisation of which area and its new design will make it even more attractive for guests. The full range of therapeutic services, as well as the wide range of European-standard medical wellness and other wellness services will still be available at the centre.

By implementing this project, the spa complex will be capable of offering high standard services all year round and regardless of the season or weather for three generations, as well as families. This development contributes to increasing the number of tourists visiting the town and surrounding micro-region, as well as the number of guest nights spent there, hence contributing to increasing revenues generated by tourism and considerably helping to reduce seasonal fluctuation.
