Kindergarten in Csanádpalota Developed from EU Funding30 March 2010

The most significant kindergarten and school renewal programme implemented over the past 50 years is being implemented within the framework of NHDP. The European Union is contributing funding amounting to over 132 million HUF towards the renewal of the kindergarten in Csanádpalota.

The fundamental aim of the development of the kindergarten in Csanádpalota relates to creating conditions underpinning quality education by implementing infrastructural investments consisting of a combination of equipment and content-related developments. A modern educational environment will be created; social cohesion is expected to increase in the region and the equal opportunity indicators of the renewed kindergarten are also anticipated to improve. Prior to the implementation of this project, target group demands were mapped on the basis of needs assessments conducted within the framework of family visits, hence integrating the concerned population in project planning.

Full handicap access will be created to the building, its courtyard will be upgraded, rooms used currently will be renewed and extensions will be built to the building to attain the above-listed goals. The new sections of the building will be furnished and equipped, whilst equipment and special instruments will also be procured as a part of this development.

Integrated education is currently provided at this kindergarten; this project helps ensure the suitable modern background required for this. The kindergarten has already introduced ability development to compensate for disadvantages experienced by disadvantaged pupils ensuing from their situation and level of development, within the framework of which the individual abilities and talent of students are developed, their individual development is facilitated and their learning abilities and chances are compensated. Teachers, a speech therapist and a remedial gymnastics expert experienced in integrated development helped develop the underlying development strategy.

The kindergarten particularly focuses on teaching children to respect the environment, shaping an environmentally aware approach and promoting environmentally-friendly behaviour. A waste collection, waste battery collection programme and environmental awareness education programme have been introduced and energy-saving equipment has been procured in the kindergarten.

Funding amounting to approximately 105 billion HUF has been made available up to 2011 within the framework of the NHDP National School Renewal Programme, enabling the implementation of 365 projects. This ensures the opportunity to renew numerous outdated, run-down kindergarten and school buildings and set up quality educational institutions.
