Micro-regional Outpatient Healthcare Centre to Be Constructed in the Micro-region of Ibrány-Nagyhalász30 March 2010

A total of 481 billion HUF has been earmarked within the framework of the New Hungary Development Plan for healthcare developments over the 2007-2013 period. The EU is contributing nearly 970 million HUF towards the development of the outpatient healthcare centre in the micro-region of Ibrány-Nagyhalász.

The development of healthcare centres undertaking micro-regional tasks has begun in several settlements over the past few months, towards the implementation of which the European Union has granted a significant amount of funding. The fundamental aim of these healthcare centres relates to ensuring access to suitable standard healthcare services for everyone, even in settlements where no such healthcare services were available earlier.

A total of 25 billion HUF was made available within the framework of the Social Infrastructure Operational Programme for constructing and developing micro-regional outpatient medical centres; funding ranging between 500 million HUF and 1 billion HUF could be approved for each specific development. The Micro-regional Outpatient Healthcare Centre in Ibrány is being constructed within the framework of this scheme, the foundation stone of which has just been laid. Besides construction work, the procurement of medical, IT and other equipment needed is currently in progress within the framework of this project.

An approximately 1,500-square-metre healthcare complex will be set up in the micro-region of Ibrány-Nagyhalász, which is one of the most disadvantaged micro-regions in the country lacking state-funded outpatient medical services, with the help of the funding approved, which centre will be capable of providing efficient healthcare services in a state-of-the-art modern environment for more than 28,000 people.

Special medical services will be provided 200 hours a week and general medical services will be provided 120 hours a week at a high standard and in a cost-efficient and effective manner; in addition, an image diagnostic apparatus capable of processing images will operate, home care services will be available, healthcare and social services will be organised and a duty roster, therapeutic treatment, as well as child-welfare services will also be ensured within a single organisational structure and facility as an outcome of this project.
