Sárvár Thermal Bath Expanded with EU Support23 December 2010

The Sárvár Gyógyfürdő Kft. has been granted EU support of almost 900 million HUF from the call for applications of the Western Transdanubia Operational Programme “Development of priority thermal baths of international significance”. In the framework of the investment project with a total budget of nearly 3 billion HUF a new bath building and outdoor facilities have been built.

With the implementation of the development project in a total value of 3 billion HUF, a genuine family-oriented bath complex has been created that ensures entertainment and recreational opportunities for families with children and for young people. The calm atmosphere of the existing bath building continues to provide the opportunity for rest and therapy, while the new bath wing will offer an exciting world for families with children. The range of outdoor facilities has been further expanded and the quality-level of existing services has been improved in the framework of the investment.
As a result of the development, the Thermal and Wellness Bath of Sárvár has become a real family bath where each generation, from babies to grandparents, can find perfect relaxation, recreation, entertainment and recovery.

The new bath has a family and children’s world, climbing wall, water-slide, cinema, a new fitness section, and a multi-functional recreational pool.
Another zone for children and several lanes for swimmers have been created in part of the big open-air pool. Three new features have been added to the giant water-slide, playgrounds and beach sports courts have been created. The old open-air thermal pool has been put into service again. New wells have also been bored and the parking lots and green areas have been enlarged.

The development project supported by the EU had been implemented at an incredibly rapid pace since the bath complex has already been inaugurated – on December 16, 2010 – just one year after the support decision was made in November 2009.
