Angiology Centre Opened in Kapuvár with EU Funding 20 October 2010

In the framework of the West Pannon Operational Programme, the angiology centre of Lumniczer Sándor Hospital in Kapuvár was set up with EU funding of 750 million HUF. As a result of the highlighted project, an investment exceeding 884 million HUF was completed.

The town contributed to the project with the amount of 134 million HUF from its own funds, to create a rehabilitation centre within the Institute that meets European standards, provides state-of-the-art medical treatment and is unique in Hungary. The development has doubled the capacity of the department of angiology in Kapuvár. The development of in-patient care, the increase of comfort levels and quality change of the serving functions were all necessary for the establishment of the rehabilitation centre. Efforts were made to place all the premises in one block; as opposed to the pavilion system, functions that belong together from a professional point of view in the treatment were all placed in one building, and obstacle-free access has been ensured.

As a result of the investment, a modern 134-bed medical centre has been created, with patient rooms on the first floor, as well as the special functions of angiology (carbonic acid tub baths), and therapeutic units.

Ten full-length and two sitting bathtubs are available for the patients for treatment with the new, state-of-the-art carbonic acid therapy. The service rooms required for the patient rooms have been created, the restaurant and the kitchen also cater for special dietary needs.
