Simpler Tenders Attract a Large Crowd to the Introduction of the New Széchenyi Plan in Pécs2011. február 11.

Due to the simplifications family, small and medium-sized enterprises can access Hungarian and EU development funds faster and easier.

State Secretary for Development Policy Coordination Ágnes Molnár of the Ministry of National Development talked about the details of the renewed system of tendering to 1000 participants in Pécs on 8 February 2011.

Overcomplicated and slow administration will be replaced by shortened evaluation periods and a lower number of forms. Automatic tenders will be applicable in more cases and corrections can only be requested once. These changes, coupled with the predictable legal framework and the transparent system of institutions, result in faster payments. ‘Tenderers can be successful even without recourse to external, professional assistance; the implementation of useful and sustainable ideas cannot be hindered by formal errors’, said the State Secretary.

The National Programmes of the New Széchenyi Plan treat Pécs with priority. The Programmes bring considerable improvements in transportation, living standards and the accessibility of the town. In the county town of Baranya a new combined bus/railway station will be built providing high level services. To free living areas from cross-town traffic, bypasses will be built. Long awaited development work will be started on the Pécs–Barcs section of Road 6. ‘Kodály Conference and Concert Centre built as a part of the European Capital of Culture Programme will be operated by the state to ensure community utilization’, said Ágnes Molnár.

The goal of the New Széchenyi Plan's national tour is to promote cooperation between the decision makers and businesses. Participants can ask the representatives of the Ministry, the National Development Agency and the intermediate bodies about the renewed development policy.

Strategic cooperation partners of the national tour are the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Association of Entrepreneurs.
