Two-thirds of new tenderers under New Széchenyi Plan are SMEs2011. augusztus 3.

According to Secretary of State for Development Policy Coordination Ágnes Molnár, the New Széchenyi Plan still receives extensive attention; but more and more applications are submitted to the Green Economy Development Programme and the Traffic Development Programme as well.

The effects of the development policy operating and built along standardized, thorough and focused development goals are more and more pulpable, said Ágnes Molnár. Due to the simpler regulation, the transparent system of institutions and the more effective funding system, there is an increasing amount of applications submitted, especially by micro, small and medium enterprises.

The success of the system is indicated by the fact that both administration and payments have become faster, which has tripled up since the Hungarian Government changed. Secretary of State Ágnes Molnár added that the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control appreciated all the above developments during its monitoring visit to Hungary.

Since 2007 altogether 61,872 projects were submitted for EU funds resulting in 31,603 winner applications. HUF 1,843 billion has been paid of the granted HUF 4,968 billion, which reflects the EU average and is also considered a good proportion of calling by the European Commission, emphasised Ágnes Molnár.

The Secretary of State highlighted that the reorganization of the system aimed to spend the the still available HUF 2020 billion EU limit with even more focus and effectiveness than previously. The subsidy, to be granted by the new tendering schemes, may give a major impetus to ongoing projects and also reinforce micro, small and medium enterprises.

Ágnes Molnár also emphasised that after making the new subsidy schemes available, the number of the applications submitted grew and has reached 6200 pieces by now, 4500 of which have been submitted from the SME sector. The request for subsidy in the projects exceeds HUF 744 billion. The Enterprise Development Programme is still the most popular as approximately 3500 applications have been submitted so far requesting for HUF 61 billion support. More and more applications are being submitted to the Green Economy Development Programme – mainly to tender in the field of renewable energy to fulfil the heating and cooling demand -, but the calls aiming at the development of the bikeways within the Transport Development Programme are also becoming popular.

Within the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan, the number of winners tender has exceeded 1800, which means that altogether HUF 147 billion of subsidy has been granted so far. More than 1000 grantees have concluded an agreement as well, said the Secretary of State. Ágnes Molnár added that the number of accessible tenders is continuously increasing: 15 new tenders are going to be launched within the next four weeks.
