Enese Bypass Road Constructed from New Széchenyi Plan Funds2012. január 31.
So far the Enese section of main road no. 85 has accommodated more than 10,000 vehicles, including 1,200 trucks, of daily traffic, said Pál Völner, State Secretary for Infrastructure of the Ministry of National Development, in Enese on Wednesday, 21 December 2011 at the inauguration ceremony of the Enese bypass road. Implemented in the context of the New Széchenyi Plan, the project will substantially accelerate transportation between Győr and Csorna, and will improve the quality of life in Enese by reducing traffic.
The new seven-kilometre dual carriageway will operate as a high-speed main road in the future. “Thanks to funding from the New Széchenyi Plan, the air of Enese will become cleaner, noise pollution will diminish, road safety will improve, and the properties along the road will no longer be exposed to value loss and a fast deterioration, said Mr Völner at the ceremony.
The State Secretary added that the construction of bypass roads is a priority among transportation policy efforts and infrastructure development plans for both the Government and the Ministry. In 2011, a total of six bypass roads were completed, including the one in Enese, adding up to 36 km and a total budget HUF 23 billion. An additional 32 bypass roads will be built over the upcoming years, adding up to a total of 265 km with a budget of HUF 220 billion.
The national programmes which encompass projects of nationwide significance within the New Széchenyi Plan will build bypass roads in several towns and villages, including Várpalota, Pécs, Perkáta, Seregélyes and Jászberény. Reducing transit traffic is also a key objective of the long-term high-speed and main road development project approved in the summer.
The bypass road of Csorna is among the priorities of the initial stage of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County elements of the programme, set for completion by 2016. Plans include the expansion of main road no. 85 to turn it to a highway, as well as the construction of a new section between Pereszteg and Sopron. The next phase of the programme cycle, until 2024, envisages an extension as far as the state border along with a new section of the high-speed road between Csorna and Kapuvár. Within the programme cycle until 2027, the M85 will come to full completion once the Kapuvár–Pereszteg section, a new, modern transportation link to Austria, is finished.
