Six projects focusing biodiversity and nature protection (Focus area 4) approved27 June 2012
The evaluation of the Final Project Proposals submitted in the 2nd loop for Focus Area 4 of the Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme was completed.
The National Development Agency (NDA) announced the first loop call for proposals focusing environmental initiatives, biodiversity and nature protection on 5 May 2010. The selection of projects is a two-loop procedure.
By the deadline, 16 Project Outlines were received in the first loop. After the Hungarian and Swiss assessment in the first loop six project outlines were recommended to be further elaborated for the second loop. The invited applicants had time to elaborate their Final Project Proposals (FPPs) until the beginning of September 2011. All the six Final Project Proposals were submitted to the NCU by deadline.
The meeting of the Hungarian Screening Committee took place on 14 October 2011 and the Committee unanimously recommended all six FPPs for funding. The documents were officially submitted for evaluation and approval by the NDA to Switzerland after the Screening Committee meeting. The Swiss side organized the interviews with the applicants between 5 – 9 December 2011. After thorough assessment of the Final Project Proposals, in mid-February 2012 the Swiss party decided to support all the six projects under certain conditions.
