"Over the past years, 520 thousand people took part in training programs started with EU co-financing in Hungary, which is an especially good ratio compared to the overall number of the population" - said Dr. Laszlo Odrobina, Head of Department for Vocational and Adult Education, on Friday. The National Development Agency draws attention to this result with the installation named "Keyboard" in Miskolc, at one of the stops of the summer campaign of the New Széchenyi Plan."
"More than half a million people took part in supported vocational and adult education in the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan. A significant number of programs were carried out - programs for disadvantaged groups, competency-based programs, and even work place programs"- said Dr. Laszlo Odrobina, Head of Department at the Ministry of National Economy.
Many institutions and organizations all over the country took place in training development projects. The 3120 completed developments of the New Széchenyi Plan have created the opportunity for participation in the trainings, which were realized with the help of almost HUF 276 billion of EU and national funds. Even now it is possible to submit an application: there is a call for application open for supporting young people to become entrepreneurs, or there is also another for strengthening civil organizations providing work market services.
"In the region of Northern Hungary more than HUF 550 billion of EU and state funds are flowing to the area through the 6100 supported developments. In Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County two-thirds of the projects, that is 2400, while In Miskolc more than half of the investments, that is, 623 developments have already been completed. A few of the more important ones: the nearly 34 billion Green Arrow electric project, the construction of the "Star Point Hospital", or the renovation of the University of Miskolc, increasing the competitiveness of it" – emphasized György Vécsei, Chairman of the Board of Miskolc Holding.
Nándor Csepreghy, the communication manager of the National Development Agency said that the installation named "Keyboard" was set up with the goal of representing the giant number, the 520 thousand persons who participated in training programs through grants from the New Széchenyi Plan in Hungary. He added: "The installation which displays the giant number enlarges a few keys of a keyboard into street stools so that they provide some means of rest to the tired people of our fast paced world."
