Currently the development of more than 450 kilometres of railways, roads and bike paths are under way" - said Zoltan Schváb deputy state secretary for transport.
The already completed investments serve the improvement of the accessibility of the country and the region centres, the construction and expansion of expressway and highway networks, the development of public transport, and the construction of urban and suburban bicycle paths. Due to the supports transport has become faster, safer, and has improved in quality in the cities and in the suburbs, both nationally and regionally.
At the event Bela Somogyi, deputy mayor of Debrecen, emphasized: "In the Northern Great Plains region a significant - over 7300 - number of investments have been awarded EU and state support in the amount of more than HUF 1,000 billion by the Government. Due to the resources of the New Széchenyi Plan and as part of the transport development 512 kilometres of roads have already been built and renewed in the framework of 95 investments. In Hajdu-Bihar County there are 2815 supported developments, 1800 of which have already been implemented." The mayor added: "The city of Debrecen has also improved in recent years - nearly 930 of the 1500 EU investments have been completed. The city's residents may presently feel satisfied due to fact that an important section of the western small ring road has been completed. Even our ancestors felt the need for such a ring road a hundred years ago, and they planned the construction of it. However, it could become a reality only now, due to the support granted by the New Széchenyi Plan".
"The numbers we are talking about all represent the common successes; refer to the important results of developments realized from the resources of the New Széchenyi Plan. The "Roads" installation inaugurated in Debrecen was shaped from forms that suggest the sense of speed, the painted road signs of bends are turned into spatial designs that can be used as seats "- explains the composition Nándor Csepreghy, communication manager of the NDA.
