In the future calls for tenders in the value of HUF 400 billion will be announced in the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan15 January 2013

The National Development Agency (NDA) has made nearly 300 calls and priority projects available this year with a funding framework of HUF 840 billion. At present applications can be submitted for almost HUF 1,150 billion and in the coming months calls may be announced in the value of HUF 400 billion. The NDA is expected to publish all calls for tenders until the end of March 2013. The approving decisions have already been made about 85% of the amount available during the entire period that is for these funds the beneficiaries and the projects to be implemented have already been selected.

In 2012 the National Development Agency announced almost 300 calls for tenders in the amount of HUF 840 billion. Coming closer to the end of the programming period obviously the amount of free funding is gradually decreasing, during the upcoming period the NDA will announce calls for tenders in the amount of HUF 400 billion. Next year the decisions about the last billions will be made as well.
It is important to note that 85% of the amount available in the present programming period has already been committed with an approving support decision. Today approximately HUF 1,150 billion uncommitted funding is available for economic operators.
Through the results achieved and the underlying hard work the NDA ensures that each forint hits home and not even one euro gets stuck in Brussels. With this efficiency in mind the institutional system continues to work intensively to make the complete available funding budget accessible as soon as possible.
The National Development Agency has already started to examine projects that may be withdrawn or cannot be implemented. In addition to the continuous monitoring of the funds in case of certain areas the winners from reserve lists have already been involved and for certain popular calls the budget framework has also been increased.
In the past period due to the accelerating measures of the Government and the NDA the incremental costs have become eligible, thus developments the implementation of which has become significantly more expensive since the approving support decision can also be completed.

Efficiency has been further improved by the fact that for certain schemes the decision about the posterior increase of the support intensity has been made reducing the rate of own sources required from the beneficiaries.

The projects supported by the NDA included investments improving the quality of life for local communities – e.g. for the purpose of wastewater treatment, hospital management or municipal waste management – as well as highlighted developments of national importance. The decisions about the latter projects made possible the long awaited renovation of the Buda Castle Hill Bazaar, the modernization of the Castle Quarter’s traffic, the complete renovation of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, the reconstruction of several tourist information centres in the value of tens of billions of forints, furthermore the Hungarian road network and parts of the railway network will be developed to the European quality standard.
