The call for tenders entitled ‘Developing the energy performance of buildings and the energy-efficient transformation of public lighting’ targeting the enhancement of energy efficiency and energy conservation has been accessible since the middle of December and tenders can be submitted from March. The scheme contributes to the implementation of investments with the purpose of improving the energy-efficient and energy-conserving operation of buildings. The highlighted objective of the call entitled ‘Developing the energy performance of buildings combined with the use of renewable energy sources’  - in line with the Hungarian and EU strategies – is to encourage the more widespread use of decentralized systems using green renewable energy sources giving priority to energy efficiency and energy conservation. The total funding budget for the two calls is HUF 30 billion. The minimum support to be granted is at least HUF 1 million and maximum HUF 500 million, while for enterprises the minimum is HUF 1 million; the maximum amount cannot exceed HUF 50 million. Tenders can be submitted among others by enterprises, budgetary organizations and non-profit organizations in each region. Project ideas can be submitted from 5 February 2013 until 31 October 2013.

The scheme entitled ‘Modernization of the energy performance of the district heating sector with the potential use of renewable energy sources’ has also been accessible since December. The fundamental and primary objective of the call is energy efficiency and energy conservation. The scheme sets out the goal to reduce CO2 emission on the local level and the level of national-economy through the modernization of the energy technology of the district heating production and service infrastructure. The funding budget for the scheme is HUF 4 billion; the minimum amount of support available is HUF 10 million and the maximum is 1 billion. Tenders can be submitted for the call by enterprises – from all over the country, in all regions – from 5 February 2013 until 31 October 2013.

In recent days the call entitled ‘Supply of local heating and electricity demand from renewable energy sources’ has been published, the highlighted objective of which is to encourage the widespread use of decentralized new systems using green renewable energy sources and support the building of solar collector and solar panel systems and solid biomass boilers that are used in the energy supply of buildings and/or economic production technologies. The total amount available for the component is HUF 7 billion. In the framework of the call tenders can be submitted with the requested funding amount of HUF 1 million and maximum HUF 50 million.  Tenders can be submitted for the call for example by enterprises, budgetary organizations and non-profit organizations the earliest as of 18th March.

The call entitled ‘Supply of local heating and cooling demand with renewable energy sources’ has also been accessible for a few days, in which similarly to the abovementioned scheme there are opportunities to change the energy sources for existing systems, to supply excess demand and to carry out production process related developments up to the framework budget limit HUF 11.5 billion. The available support can be minimum HUF 50 million and maximum HUF 1 billion. Project concepts can be submitted as of 18th March 2013. The circle of applicants is the same as in the previous call.

In the framework of the call entitled ‘Renewable energy based electricity, heat and electricity cogeneration and biomethane production’ support can be requested for similar purposes, but in this scheme the NDA expects tenders with higher support amount (e.g.: solar parks, solar power plants). The budget limit for the call is HUF 16.5 billion. The available support amount is minimum HUF 50 million and maximum HUF 1 billion. Similarly to the previous ones to this scheme among others budgetary organizations, enterprises or non-profit organizations can submit tenders. Project concepts can be submitted from 18th March 2013.
