Tremendous interest in the latest call for applications to support employment25 March 2013

On the first day of submission, on 18th March so many applications were submitted to the call entitled “Supporting the employment of disadvantaged target groups through the employment capacity building of non-profit organizations” that pursuant to the legal regulations the call was required to be suspended. The objective of the support provided by the scheme is to facilitate the employment and gaining of work experience for young people, the development of non-governmental organizations and the building of service capacities. Coming closer to the end of the programming period there is a growing interest in the calls of the New Széchenyi Plan, which increases Hungary’s chances for the successful drawdown the complete support framework budget.

In August, last year the European Commission approved the NDA’s rules of procedure allowing for the so called flat-rate based accounting procedure for the simplification the tendering system. This means that in the course of accounting the occurring indirect costs do not have to be supported by separate invoices, but can be accounted for on a flat-rate basis up to the predefined rate of indirect costs. The method was first introduced in the simplified scheme entitled “Supporting the employment of disadvantaged target groups through the employment capacity building of non-profit organizations”  published on 15th December 2012 and accepting applications from 18th March 2013.

Although pursuant to the call for applications the projects can only be implemented in Convergence regions, metropolitan and Pest County organizations are also entitled to apply with projects to be implemented on their sites located in a Convergence region.

It is important that the call allows applications to be submitted via courier mail services or express mail, which ensures equal opportunities for applications sent from any settlement in the country to arrive in time.
Similarly to the simplified calls for applications announced earlier in the Social Renewal Operational Programme (SROP) a large number of project ideas have been submitted for the present call as well. The finalized call was officially available on the homepage of the NDA since December 2012, therefore, those taking serious interest could already prepare in 2012 to submit their applications. Consequently, equal amounts of time and information were provided for everyone to submit applications.
