The website introducing EU funded road safety developments has been launched 9 May 2013
A new website has been launched in order to promote the road safety developments implemented from EU support in the framework of the Transport Operational Programme (TOP).
The thematic website aims to introduce road safety projects with a support contract, the total value of which exceeds HUF 55 billion. The amount to be used for the Road Safety Programme, which is unique in Europe, may be increased to HUF 72 billion with the implementation of other prepared developments. Due to the professionally elaborated programme the number and the rate of the negative consequences of accidents will significantly decrease in the future.
With the help of the website those interested get information about a total of 10 projects implemented by 5 beneficiaries. [State Motorway Management Co. Ltd. (ÁAK Zrt.), the consortium set up by the Ministry of the Interior (BM), the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) and the Central Office for Administrative and Electronic Public Services (KEKKH)]
A lot of useful information can be found on the Internet about the present Hungarian transport situation, the preparatory work for projects, the measures taken so far and the milestones of developments. With the help of the portal visitors can access more information by reaching websites operated by the project owners.
The importance of the investments carried out in the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan to improve road safety is best expressed by the slogan “Get home safe”; therefore the homepage runs under the same name at www.erjhazabiztonsagban.hu.
