HUF 12 billion for regional development objectives in North Hungary and the North Great Plain 5 August 2013
In the framework of the Regional Development Operational Programmes, in the North Hungary and North Great Plain regions EU support was granted in the amount of more than HUF 5 billion for outpatient care, more than 1 billion for the development of nursery schools and more than HUF 5.5 billion for SME site development.
In the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan from the funds of the 2010-2013 programming period nearly HUF 12 billion in EU support was granted, the amount can be used by the successful applicants in the North Hungary and North Great Plain regions for healthcare, social and enterprise development objectives.
In the North Hungary and North Great Plain regions contracts were concluded with 32 successful applicants for the establishment of health centres, the development of primary care and outpatient care. In the North Great Plain Region 25 applications were granted support in the value of more than HUF 1.5 billion and in the North Hungary Region more than 7 applications were granted support in the total amount of HUF 3.5 billion.
The objective of the development is to make the institutions providing the adequate level of healthcare accessible to everyone. It is a highlighted objective in the disadvantaged areas that healthcare services should be operated the same way as in the more developed regions of the country.
In North Hungary nursery school developments can also be implemented in the future; more than HUF 1 billion will be distributed among 5 organizations in the call announced for this purpose. With the investments in the region the capacity building of nursery schools and the related infrastructural developments: renovation and modernization of existing buildings and in justified cases the construction of new buildings can be carried out.
In the framework of the Regional Development Operational Programmes in the North Great Plain Region 88 applicants received support for SME development. Among others the objective of this call is to improve the employment indicators of the regions by modernizing the infrastructure of micro, small and medium enterprises and making their operating conditions more favourable. For the enterprise developments to be implemented in the North Great Plain more than HUF 5.5 billion in support was granted for the successful SMEs.
