Visitors to the Car-Free Day are welcome in the New Széchenyi Plan tents 2 October 2013

On Sunday, 22nd September 2013 on the Car-Free Day visitors will be awaited in the New Széchenyi Plan tents with programmes for the whole day. Among others, prize games, BMX show, news presentation and several other interesting activities will provide for the entertainment of visitors.

On the Car-Free Day of the European Mobility Week (22 September 2013) the developments, investments and positive results so far implemented and achieved in the area of sustainable community transport shall be presented by the National Development Agency through family programmes and information materials.

Visitors are welcome in three venues between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in Andrássy Avenue in the tents dedicated to the New Széchenyi Plan.

The objective of the Car-Free Day is to draw the attention of participants to the benefits of the environmentally conscious way of living and the importance of sustainable development. It is our highlighted objective to present the visitors of the event the transport developments implemented from EU funds.

In the News tent everyone can try what it is like to be standing on the other side of the camera presenting the news; the adventurous occasional newsreaders can experience the atmosphere at a news broadcast in a studio with the motion graphics used in the news.

In the Car-Free Day the most important transport developments will be introduced by KIKSZ Transport Development Ltd and the interested participants can also win prizes in exciting games. Certain major investments are presented to the visitors in the form of video mashups: the development of the Miskolc tram network, the modernization of the Sopron -Szombathely – Szentgotthárd railway network, the construction of the section of the M3 motorway between Nyíregyháza and Vásárosnamény, and also bicycle transportation related developments, such as the bicycle path between Szolnok and Martfű, or the development of the bicycle path of Kondoros will also be presented to the visitors of the event.

In the spirit of the slogan of this year’s Car-Free Day: “Clean air- It’s your move!” visitors can also try alternative means of transport: they can try and learn the use of segway and the audience can also enjoy the BMX show twice a day, at 11.00 a.m. and at 5.00 p.m.
