NDA - Modernised waste management with EU tenders 7 October 2013
The call for tenders for the purchase of equipment related to the waste management of local governments was published by the National Development Agency (NFÜ) in the framework of the New Széchenyi Plan making HUF 7 billion funding available. The scheme announced at the end of July contributes to the achievement of the government’s utilities cost reduction objectives.
The call allows for the purchase of waste transport vehicles, for the implementation of IT developments and for making waste management more efficient in the settlements. The purchase of low-emission vehicles that meet the latest requirements serves for reducing environmental load and also contributes to meeting national targets defined by EU regulations.
The scheme finances activities related to the building and modernization of waste collection systems, IT systems designed to support waste management, the preliminary treatment of selectively collected waste and the development of waste management facilities.
With the help of this really popular scheme soon in several settlements the operation of waste management systems can become more economical and cost-efficient relieving the burden on residents and contributing to the achievement of the government’s utilities cost reduction objectives.
Protecting the health of citizens and supporting the modern waste management systems built and operated in order to protect the environment are highlighted objectives both for the European Union and Hungary.
